So, because you guys seem to be the "go to" place for help I am asking here for help. I have hit a couple websites with step by step instructions for this rooting this exact phone, but I don't even know if I can trust random website instructions. The last thing in the world I want to do is end up ruining her phone because she loves it. But if I did know I could fix this phone, I can learn it, I just want to be able to do it right. , I still haven't quite figured that stuff out. I am somewhat confused as to all the lingo involved in rooting, I understand the basic theory, but roms, etc.

I have read in other forums of a few people who tried it and it didn't work, so I am asking you experts here, is there somewhere I can find a way to root this phone so that we can upgrade the android version?

Everywhere I read, leads me to a download in the forums here from Bin4ry, but this specific phone is not listed in the compatible devices for this. I am fairly computer savvy, but not phone savvy. So, I have been researching rooting and I think if I could figure this out, I probably could do it. She is only 11, my son and I don't want her to have a "real" phone yet.

I asked LG if there was an update from them that could get this phone to hopefully kitkat so it would be usable for at least awhile longer and they said no, it can only go to ice cream sandwich. that she wants because the android version is too old.
She is running into the problem now of not being able download games, etc. She uses it on WiFi to play games and stuff, there is no cell service connected to it.
I had this through US Cellular, but after moving on to Verizon and getting an HTC, I gave this phone to my granddaughter. I had an LG Splendor (US730), android version 4.0.4, which I believe is ice cream sandwich. This is my first time posting here, so please excuse me if I'm posting in the wrong place.
